I'm back und gleich was neues ausprobiert
Hallo meine Lieben!
Hello everybody! I survived my trip to Southamerica and saw lots of great things. In my next post I will show you some pictures of it, but for now I'll share a little recipe with you, which I found in the internet.
Leckere Schokobrötchen!
Yummy Choco-Biscuits!
First I discovered the recipe at the facebook page from Do-it-yourself, they have it from Foodelicious, but the idea comes from an italian food-blog. Ah this internet and its mysterious ways of information spread.
At facebook some users left negative comments relating to the dough, which wasn't sweet enough or even a little dry. Therefore I changed the dough a little bit, becaue I didn't want my first baking experience after six weeks of travel becoming a total mess.
Rezept / Recipe
250g Mehl / flour
1/2 Päckchen Trockenhefe / 1/2 pack of dry yeast
125ml Milch (Ich habe außerdem 2 EL Sahne benutzt) / milk (I also used two Tablespoons of cream)
25g Zucker / sugar
40g Butter / butter
1 Prise Salz / Pinch of salt
Außerdem / furthermore
Voll- oder Zartbitterschokolade für die Füllung / Milk- or darkchocolate for the filling
1 Eigelb zum Bestreichen / 1 Eggyolk for coating
Anleitung / directions
Mix all the ingredients to a smooth dough. You can heat up the milk, but be sure to make the "finger-test" ( if you can't touch it, it's too hot). But I actually didn't heat the milk and the biscuits still turned out great.
Now you have to let the dough raise for about 30 to 40 minutes. It should get bigger a bit, but if you have the feeling the dough didn't do anything, don't worry, just go ahead with step three. In my experience dough made with dry yeast instead of fresh one never raises that much.
Form eight little balls out of the dough and press them flat. In the middle you put two pieces of chocolate and roll it to a ball again. Put them on a baking sheet and cover them with a towel. Let them sit for another half an hour. They should have grown a bit until then.
Now you're almost done. I baked my biscuits at 210 degrees celsius with top-and-bottom-heat. In the recipe they are using air circulation (I don't know the right term in english) and I think that will dry the biscuits out, at least some users on facebook experienced that with their biscuits. Before you put them in the oven be sure to coat them with the eggyolk, but keep some for later. Because after ten minutes of baking you should coat them again. After ten more minutes your biscuits should have become golden brown and are ready for eating.
im Backofen, schon fast fertig / in the oven, almost there
My Choco-Biscuits turned out great and were really yummy. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was that the chocolate didn't melt as expected. So I would recommend to use chocolate drops or chopping the chocolate a little bit more before mixing it into the little balls.
Guten Appetit und viel Spaß beim Nachmachen
Enjoy your meal!
